پاکستان درآمد کرنے کے لئے پاکستان میں بحیرہ بندرگاہ ہے استعمال شدہ کاریں جاپان سے.

دائیں ہاتھ ڈرائیو گاڑیاں
درآمد شدہ تمام گاڑییں دائیں ہینڈ ڈرائیو (RHD) ہونا ضروری ہے.
2006 میں اعلان کردہ نئی درآمد کی پالیسی کو تین سال کی عمر کی اجازت دیتا ہےاستعمال شدہ کاریںغی ملکی پاکستانیوں کے لۓ دو سال کی بجائے.
استعمال شدہ کار درآمد کرنے کے طریقہ کاراب پاکستان میں بہت آسان ہے.

مندرجہ بالا گاڑیوں کی درآمد پر قابو پانے والے قواعد و ضوابط میں ترمیم کی گئی ہے

• تحفہ اور ذاتی سامان کے منصوبوں کے تحت،تین سال کی عمر تک گاڑیاں اب قابل درآمد ہوگی.
• تحفہ سکیم بھائیوں اور بہنوں کے تحت بھی قابل ہو جائے گا،والدین، شوہر، بیوی اور بچوں کے علاوہ.
• اب اس کی ضرورت نہیں ہوگی کہ گاڑی ذاتی سامان کے تحت اس کی درآمد یا رہائشی منصوبہ بندی کی منتقلی سے قبل پاکستانی قومی نام کے نام پر درج ہو.
• چار اقسام میں گاڑیوں کی درآمد کی اجازت ہے. تمام پاکستانیوں کو درآمد کر سکتا ہے   نئی کاریں جبکہ صرف غیر ملکی پاکستانی استعمال کاروں کو درآمد کرسکتے ہیں.
• پاکستانی نژاد کارڈ کے حامل بیرونی پاکستانیوں کو بھی تحفہ کے تحت گاڑیاں درآمد کرنے کے اہل ہوں گے،ذاتی سامان اور رہائشی منصوبہ بندی کی منتقلی.یہ کارڈ پاکستانیوں کو کسی اور ملک کی شہریت یا امریکہ میں ایسے ہی سبز کارڈ لے کر شہریوں کا انتخاب کرتے ہیں.
• غیر ملکی پاکستانیوں کے لئے سامان کے قوانین کے تحت،استعمال شدہ اور نئی گاڑیوں کی درآمد کی اجازت ہے کہ رہائشی منتقلی،فوری طور پر رشتہ داروں کے لئے تحفہ اور چھ ماہ سے زائد عرصے تک ملک بھر میں رہنے کے لئے.نئے قوانین ان اقسام کے لئے طریقہ کار کو آسان بنانے اور خامیاں اتارنے، جس کے نتیجے میں بہت خرابی ہوئی، ہمایون نے کہا. استعمال کردہ کار کی ملکیت کی پابندی ختم ہو چکی ہے اور غیر ملکی پاکستانیوں کو مارکیٹ سے استعمال شدہ کار خرید سکتی ہے، جو تین سال سے بھی کم ہے.
• گفٹ اسکیم کے تحت ایک غیر ملکی اب والدین کے علاوہ بھائیوں اور بہنوں کو تحفہ بھی بھیج سکے گی، بیوی اور بچوں
• چونکہ  بائیں ہاتھ ڈرائیو پاکستان میں دائیں ہاتھ کے خلاف دنیا کے زیادہ تر حصوں میں نظام خراب ہے. دائیں ہاتھ ڈرائیو کاروں کے درآمد کی سہولیات کے لئے ملکیت کی پابندی ختم کردی گئی ہے.
• حکومت کی پالیسی پالیسی 2005-06 میں لے جانے والے نئے اقدامات سے پہلے، بجٹ 2005-06 میں استعمال ہونے والی کار درآمد پر ایک فیصد سے دو فیصد پر استحصال کی بونس میں اضافہ ہوا. یہ تقریبا 40،000 کاروں کی مانگ اور سپلائی فرق پل کرنے کے لئے ڈیزائن کیا گیا تھا، جس کی وجہ سے مقامی صنعت نے پیداوار کی صلاحیتوں کو دوگنا کرنے کے باوجود پورا نہیں کیا.

 
درآمد کی فیس
1،300 سی سی کی صلاحیت کے ساتھ نئی کاروں پر درآمد کے فرائض 50 فیصد ہیں؛ 1،800 سی سی کی گاڑیوں میں 65 فی صد چارج کیے گئے ہیں اور 1800 سی سی سے زائد کاریں 75 فی صد ہیں.استعمال شدہ کاروں کے لئے ڈیوٹی میں کمی کا مؤثر طریقے سے یہ ہے کہ ایک دو سالہ کار کار 1،300 سی سی کی صلاحیت کے حامل کار صرف 2 فیصد کا فرض کرے گا.
جبکہ پاکستان میں فروخت شدہ نئی کاریں 1،300 سی سی یا نیچے ہیں، حکومت بڑی درآمد کی حوصلہ افزائی کر رہی ہے عیش و آرام کی کاریں. سب سے بڑی کاروں پر درآمد کے فرائض، 100 سے 75 فی صد میں کمی آئی ہے.

Right Hand Drive Vehicles
All vehicles imported must be Right Hand Drive (RHD).
The new import policy announced in 2006 allows the import of three year old vehicles from the date of manufacturing used cars instead of two years old for the Overseas Pakistanis.
Procedure for importing a used car is now very simple in Pakistan.

The rules and regulations governing import of vehicles have been amended as follows
Under the gift and personal baggage schemes, vehicles up to three years old from the date of manufacturing will now be importable.
Under the gift scheme brothers and sisters will also be eligible, besides the parents, husband, wife and children.
It will no longer be required that the vehicle be registered in the name of the Pakistani national prior to its import under the personal baggage or transfer of residence scheme.
Import of cars is allowed in four categories. All Pakistanis can import new cars while only overseas Pakistanis can import used cars.
Overseas Pakistanis holding Pakistan origin card will also be eligible to import vehicles under the gift, personal baggage and transfer of residence scheme. These cards are issued to Pakistanis opting for citizenship of another country or those carrying green cards like in the United States.
Under baggage rules for overseas Pakistanis, imports of used and new cars are permitted on transfer of residence, gift to immediate relatives and for stay abroad extending beyond six months. New rules simplify procedures for these categories and remove impediments, which had resulted in many malpractices, Hamayun said. The restriction of ownership of a used car has been done away with and the overseas Pakistanis can buy a used car from the market, which is less than three years old from the date of manufacturing.
Under gift scheme an expatriate would now be able to send the gift to brothers and sisters as well besides parents, wife and children.
Since left-hand drive system is in vogue in most parts of the world as against right hand in Pakistan, the ownership restriction has been dropped to facilitate import of right hand drive cars from whatever sources these are available.
The government, prior to the new measures taken in the Trade Policy 2005-06, increased the depreciation allowance on used car imports to two from one percent in the budget 2005-06. This was designed to bridge the demand and supply gap of about 40,000 cars, which the local industry has failed to meet despite doubling production capacities.

Import Duty
Import duties on new cars with a capacity of up to 1,300cc are 50 percent; cars up to 1,800cc are charged 65 percent and cars of more than 1800cc pay 75 percent.The reduction in duty for used cars means effectively that a two-year-old used car with a capacity of up to 1,300cc will be charged duty of just 2 percent.
While the bulk of new cars sold in Pakistan are 1,300cc or below, the government is encouraging the import of larger luxury cars. Import duties on the largest cars, have been reduced from 100 to 75 percent.
