One of the biggest world's carmakers shows us new e-Palette concept on the International Consumer Electronics Show. Toyota described their future autonomous mobility vision. This project was supported by huge companies such as Amazon, Pizza Hut, Mazda, Uber and DiDi.
e-Palette looks like a simple box on the wheels, which Toyota is going to offer in a several lengths variety — from 4 to 7 meters. Design of this vehicle is quite simple; however, e-Palette has the highest level of functionality. High height and the minimum number of curves maximize available space inside the car.
Toyota is going to build a new business-ecosystem with the e-Palette. This vehicle will become a base for the future building — companies could develop their own hardware and software according to their individual needs. They don’t even need to use Toyota’s autonomous technology if they want so!
Toyota will provide benefits for the companies which become e-Palette partners such as overall data. Each of the partners could use huge Toyota’s data centre and solve certain tasks. For example, process payments, monitor the condition of the vehicle or schedule maintenance with Toyota dealers.
The company is planning to test their “box” concept not earlier than the 2020 year.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles also showed their new technology on a CES 2018 in a new Jeep Wrangler.
